The El Cajon Boulevard Design Committee meets on the second Wednesday of every month as part of the Joint Committee meetings. Please check the association’s calendar for times and agendas.
Committee Focus: Enhance and maintain the physical environment and multimodal safety of El Cajon Boulevard by implementing innovative and cohesive streetscape solutions.
The committee serves as the advisory group for The El Cajon Boulevard Maintenance Assessment District (MAD). The El Cajon Boulevard Maintenance Assessment District (MAD), originally known as the “Mid-City Maintenance Assessment District, Sub-District #13,” was established by the City of San Diego in 2000 by City Council Resolution R-293589. The El Cajon Boulevard BIA was instrumental in working with the community to establish The District. The purpose of the District was, and still is, to fund specifically identified improvements and activities within the boundary of the District.
In addition to regular maintenance, the MAD has a long history of infrastructure projects that can be seen here.
The El Cajon Boulevard Maintenance Assessment District (MAD) Engineer’s Report details the funding, services (like enhanced landscaping, lighting, streetscape), and assessments for properties along the corridor can be found here.
