October 1992, Joe Austin and Sam Chammas opened Live Wire.
Named after their college radio, KCR-the live wire, the bar was all about kick ass bands and kick ass beers.

Inch, Rocket from the Crypt, Fluf, Lucy’s Fur Coat, No Knife, and more, blasted from the juke the first wave of local beers poured from the taps: Alesmith, Ballast Point, Pizza Port, Stone, Karl Strauss, just to name a few.
