Reimagine The Boulevard’s Central Hub (I-805 to I-15)
Join your neighbors and business community in reimagining a vision of what the Central Hub will become.
This Town Hall will help inform the ULI San Diego/Tijuana Technical Assistance Panel that will take place in June. Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs) provide expert, multidisciplinary advice to local governments, public agencies and nonprofit organizations facing complex land use and real estate issues in the San Diego-Tijuana region.
An update to the Mid-Cities Communities Plan underway and there is an opportunity to focus community efforts into exploring how specific areas should be (or not be) developed. The El Cajon Boulevard BIA has a long history of promoting high density in the business district while leaving the neighboring less dense.
We believe Boulevard Central (El Cajon Boulevard from I-805 to SR-15) could benefit from more housing and neighborhood serving businesses. This would compliment the millions of dollars in public investment in transit, educational facilities and amenities like trees, medians and lighting installed through El Cajon Boulevard BIA efforts.
